Our Beginnings
1958
The Zuellig Group of Companies organizes and incorporates Federal Insurance Company to underwrite non-life insurance business.
1978
Phoenix Assurance buys a minority stake in Federal Insurance
1986
Phoenix Assurance’s share in Federal Insurance reached 40%
1987
The company changes its name to Federal Phoenix Assurance Co., Inc. to recognize the holdings of Phoenix.
1996
Sun Alliance merges with Royal Insurance to become the Royal & Sun Alliance Group plc.
2004
Federal Phoenix purchases Royal & Sun Alliance’s shares.
